Solo Salvage
Solo salvaging involves using a salvage-capable ship (currently the Drake Vulture) to extract valuable materials from the outer hulls of wrecked ships. The process is entirely external (no boarding needed) and handled by the ship’s onboard systems.
🛠️ What You’ll Need
🚀 Required Ship:
Drake Vulture:
1 pilot seat, 2 forward-facing salvage beams.
Onboard processing that turns hull material into RMC boxes.
Internal storage for multiple cargo units of salvage.
Small and nimble—easy to fly solo.
⚙️ Optional Tools:
Multi-Tool with Tractor Beam: For moving RMC boxes inside your ship.
Looting Kit: Salvage sites often contain valuable components or gear.
⚙️ How It Works
Find a Wreck: Locate derelicts in space or on planetary surfaces.
Use mission markers, search known wreck zones, or go exploring.
Enter Salvage Mode: Switch the Vulture to salvage mode and activate the lasers.
Strip the Hull: Aim at the surface—the lasers will turn hull plating into foam-like RMC and fill your internal processors.
Create Cargo: Once the internal tanks fill up, the ship auto-spawns RMC cargo boxes in the rear hold.
Manage Cargo: Use the ship’s internal tractor controls to stack boxes and prepare for transport.
Sell the Salvage: Deliver to trade terminals or commodity kiosks (usually at LEO stations like CRU-L1 or ARC-L1).
🌍 Where to Salvage
Static Wreck Sites: Reclaimer wrecks on MicroTech, Lyria, or Daymar.
Mission Targets: Accept salvage contracts or combat cleanup tasks.
Post-Battlefields: Salvage derelicts left behind after bounty missions.
Space Wreck Zones: Found near moons or in asteroid fields.
💰 Why Solo Salvage?
Steady Solo Income: Great for players who want a calm, self-paced profession.
High Volume Potential: The Vulture can carry a good haul of salvage before needing to sell.
Expandable: Offers a path to larger salvage ships like the Reclaimer for team play.
Supports Other Roles: Can loot, haul, and recover gear during salvage runs.
Low Risk, Low Ammo Cost: No combat needed unless combined with bounty missions.
⚠️ Key Considerations
Manual Cargo Handling: You’ll need to stack and manage cargo by hand unless using a support tool.
Wrecks May Be Scarce: Best to combine with other missions or explore known sites.
Limited Defense: The Vulture is lightly armed—avoid conflict.
No Refining Yet: RMC is sold raw until future updates allow deeper salvage gameplay (e.g., component extraction, reprocessing).
