Mining Laser

The mining laser is the ship attachment you will use to first fracture the rock or asteroid into small enough pieces to store. Next, the mining head will need to be switched to the extraction mode to extract the ore from the surface to the storage compartments on the ship.

Even though the Prospector comes outfitted with a laser, you may want to consider upgrading. There are five more to choose from.  Make sure to consider the strengths and drawbacks of each before you make a purchase.  Check out the Mining Lasers and Consumables page for more information.

Consumables

Mining laser consumables are consumable mining items which can be used to alter the behavior of mining lasers. There are eight to choose from.  But, you only have at the most 3 slots for them. Make sure to consider the strengths and drawbacks of each before outfitting our ship with them.  Check out the Mining Lasers and Consumables page for more information.

What to Mine

There are many different minerals and metals you can make a profit from.  Visit the Mineables and Harvestables page for more information and suggestions.

Where to Mine

Just about any Moon or Planet surface. Asteroids found around Yela or at the Lagrange Points are another profitable place to mine.
