Thermyte Concern engineered the Helix to be a mining laser with impressive power and increased range to make it ideal when dealing with difficult deposits. Yet, all this power can be dangerous, as it also slows the throttle’s responsiveness and increases the intensity of explosions. To some, the effective use of the Helix has become a sign of a true mining professional.

Hofstede

Schubin Interstellar

Attributes:

Optimal Range: 30/60m
Maximum Range: 150/300m

Throttle Speed: -50%

Resistance: -10%

Consumable Slots: 2

Extraction Throughput: 0.35 SCU/s

Built with safety in mind, the Hofstede sacrifices range and focuses on dampening a deposit’s instability to make it safer to mine. Miners looking to decrease the chance of a catastrophic explosion should turn to this reliable and affordable mining laser from Shubin.

Impact

Thermyte Concern

Attributes:

Optimal Range: 30/60m
Maximum Range: 150/300m
Power Transfer: 3,000
Instability: 20%
Optimal Charge Window: 0%
Catastrophic Charge Rate: 100%

Optimal Charge Rate: 20%
Shatter Damage: 50%
Throttle Speed: 0%

Resistance: -10%

Consumable Slots: 2

Extraction Throughput: 0.45 SCU/s

Mine difficult deposits easier and faster with the Impact. Thermyte Concern created special focus lenses to increase the laser’s power and provide the precision required for a larger optimal charge window. This powerful size two mining laser does require careful management, as deposits will overheat quicker and explode with more force.

Klein

Shubin Interstellar

Attributes:

Optimal Range: 30/60m
Maximum Range: 150/300m
Power Transfer: 1,800
Instability: 20%
Optimal Charge Window: 15%
Catastrophic Charge Rate: 75%

Optimal Charge Rate: 10%
Shatter Damage: 75%
Throttle Speed: 0%

Resistance: -20%

Consumable Slots: 2
Extraction Throughput: 0.35 SCU/s

Shubin designed the Klein to generate a powerful laser that makes mining faster. This increased speed incurs additional risk by boosting a deposit’s instability and chance of exploding, but if used correctly, the Klein can quickly reap rewards for the careful miner.

Lancet

GreyCat Industrial

Attributes:

Optimal Range: 30/60m
Maximum Range: 150/300m
Power Transfer: 1,400
Instability: -75%
Optimal Charge Window: 40%
Catastrophic Charge Rate: -30%

Optimal Charge Rate: -30%
Shatter Damage: -50%
Throttle Speed: 50%

Resistance: 0%

Consumable Slots: 3
Extraction Throughput: 0.45 SCU/s

Greycat classifies the Lancet as a support laser best utilized when mining with others. Generating a weaker than average beam, the Lancet safely heats deposits to reduce their resistance and instability but struggles to shatter them on its own. For mining crews, it’s an ideal support laser to use alongside other lasers.

Attributes Explained:

Instability: More positive is good, negative numbers means the rock gets more unstable.

Optimal Charge Window Size: The bigger the better, makes the green part of the bar bigger.

Catastrophic Charge Rate: Positive number here is bad since if you go into the overcharge area, this adds to how quickly that fills.

Optimal Charge Rate: Positive is good. This helps how quickly it fractures once you are in the green.

Shatter Damage: Positive is bad, when it goes boom, it does so with this amount of extra boom.

Throttle Speed: Negative is bad, makes it change power input slower.

Resistance: More negative is better. This reduces the amount of power wasted on the rock.

Consumable Slots: Mining items which can be added and used to alter the behavior of mining lasers.

Consumables

Brandt – 2250 aUEC – ARC-L1 or CRU-L1 Refining Station – Strategically use this consumable to crack unstable rocks. The Brandt provides 30 seconds of stabilized power to decrease a mining laser’s charge rate while also reducing a deposit’s instability.

Forel – 1,950 aUEC – Any Refining Station (L1) – Shubin developed the Forel consumable to temporarily distort a mining laser to produce a unique tremor. The resulting beam reduces a rock’s resistance by 40%, but also increases the instability by 20%, making it less stable and more dangerous to mine.

Lifeline – 800 aUEC – Any Refining Station (L1) – Avoid a disaster with the Lifeline. Save yourself and your ship by using this consumable to significantly reduce damage caused by a shattering deposit.

Optimum – 3,000 aUEC – HUR-L2, ARC-L1 or CRU-L1 Refining Station

The Optimum makes mining safer by increasing the optimal charge window for 30 seconds. This allows the laser to pump a deposit with more power before it crosses into the catastrophic danger pool.

Rime – 1,100 aUEC – Any Refining Station (L1) – Reduce the chance of a catastrophic explosion by using the Rime mining consumable to dissipate heat and improve a deposit’s stability.

Stampede – 1,400 aUEC – Any Refining Station (L1) – Increase your overall mining speed by activating the Stampede, which produces a pulse that immediately increases a deposit’s charge rate by 100%.

Surge –  1,400 aUEC – HUR-L1 or PO – Instantly inject energy into a deposit with the Surge. This consumable combines with a mining laser to deliver a burst of power that immediately fills part of the current charge window whilst simultaneously destabilizing it, increasing the shatter damage and catastrophic charge rate making it dangerous to fail with.

Torpid – 1,950 aUEC – Any Refining Station (L1) – When the Torpid consumable interacts with a mining laser, it allows the operator more precise power adjustments for 30 seconds to precisely find a deposit’s weak spot, but slowing the charge rate in the process.
