Solo Mining
Solo ship mining is the most efficient way for a single player to extract valuable resources from large rock deposits in space or on planets. It offers greater income than ROC or hand mining and introduces deeper mechanics like laser tuning, cargo management, and refining.
🛠️ What You’ll Need
🚀 The Ship:
MISC Prospector: The go-to solo mining ship.
Single mining laser.
Built-in saddlebag storage system.
Internal refinery coming soon (eventually reducing trips to stations).
📦 Optional Support Ship:
Something with cargo space to transfer refined ore later (not required, but helpful for scaling up).
🪨 What You’re Mining
Large Deposits: Found on moons and in asteroid fields.
Common Resources:
Quantanium (most valuable, but volatile)
Bexalite
Laranite
Taranite
Agricium
🧪 How It Works
Scan: Use the Prospector’s scanners to locate mineable rocks. Look for high-value readings and manageable resistance levels.
Fracture: Use the mining laser to heat the rock within the “green zone” while avoiding instability spikes.
Use mining consumables (modules) to help manage difficult rocks.
Break: Once fractured, the valuable chunks become extractable.
Extract: Switch modes and tractor in the fractured materials into the ship’s saddlebags.
Refine or Sell:
Sell raw ore at trade terminals for quick, lower-profit payouts.
Or refine it at stations like ARC-L1, HUR-L1, etc., then haul it for much higher profits.
🌌 Where to Mine
Asteroid Fields:
Aaron Halo Belt (between Crusader and ArcCorp).
Belt Alpha (around Delamar).
Moons:
Lyria, Daymar, Aberdeen, and Ita are popular for surface mining.
Quantanium Hotspots:
Found mostly in asteroid belts—volatile and time-sensitive.
💰 Why Solo Ship Mine?
High Profit Potential: Especially with refined Quantanium or Bexalite.
Great for Solo Players: Doesn’t require crew, just knowledge and patience.
Builds Skill: Teaches resource evaluation, laser management, risk control.
Expandable: Can evolve into Mole crew mining or fleet logistics gameplay.
⚠️ Key Considerations
Quantanium is Volatile: You have ~15 minutes to land and refine before it degrades.
Laser Management Matters: Overcharging can blow the rock—or your ship.
Modules Help: Use consumables like Surge, Brandt, or Stampede to tackle tough rocks.
Cargo is Finite: You can only extract what your ship can hold—plan accordingly.
